Prototype

At this stage of the project, I use Adobe XD to build a high-end platform for the web with webforms. This stage went through a few rounds of modifications until we got what we wanted; changing colors, questions, background images that reflected the community and the culture of Comcast.

Testing

We tested the VRP with the office employees of Comcast to see if all areas of the form functioned well on different computers, browsers, mobile devices, and broadbands. We used this feedback to make minor changes before we rolled out the final site. The site was made to be responsive and adaptable.

Vendor Registration

What is this project about?

The Comcast Vendor Registration Portal was created to help independent contractors return to work and start new projects in a shorter amount of time. Vendors are faced with a long lengthy return time due to many challenging reasons. This process was able to reduce the return time from years to days. Using this active web form and the Kissflow app vendors were able to submit their request and get back to work in no time.

The Problem

The Comcast Vendor Registration for new and returning vendors was a long and tedious task for all parties involved. Vendors were locked in a waiting period of three years before returning back to the company to receive new work or projects. Comcast was losing vendors and great resources due to this long wait. Managers and VPs had to deal with tons of paperwork. The department was overwhelmed with entries. Vendors were eager and anxious to get back to work.

Our Ideas

Our team of three, sat down for a brainstorming session to come up with some ideas to eradicate the problem and come up with some solutions. After reviewing some complaints and requests for the NPS, We come up with the idea for an app and a website. We narrowed it down to a website. Because the VPs and managers were a bit older in age, an app would be a bit too complicated and not everyone had a smartphone.  We picked wireframe option 2 created in Balsamiq.

User Flow

When presenting the VRP to senior management, directors, and the VPs, it was a great idea to show the user flow to explain the process with some visuals. If a step needed to be added, corrected, or changed this would allow them to see the purpose of the project.

Sometimes you just need to see things on paper.

The Final

The final outcome of this project was to save time, resources, jobs, and money. It was well accomplished. The Total Rewards team was about to turn a 3 years registration process into a 3-day return to work process. After the approved vendors and new business clients were able to join the Comcast family with a better turnaround. Projects were able to grow. The one employee that worked the vendor registration was able to be a lot more efficient with work, and Comcast was able to change some rules.
